Where we fit rails

  • Beside toilets, baths, showers and basins
  • Beside beds and chairs
  • Stairs, landings and corridors, as continuous runs
  • Front and back doors, steps and garden paths
  • Communal stairs and entrances

What makes a rail safe

  • Fixings matched to the wall: masonry, stud or plasterboard with a pattress
  • A height and length set by the OT or by current guidance
  • A colour that contrasts with the wall, for people with low vision
  • A profile that is easy to grip, with ends that do not catch clothing
  • Finishes that clean easily, which matters in care settings

Your report

After every job you get a short written report with before and after photos. It is evidence for your records, your inspector, your client or a deposit dispute.

Common questions

Can you fit a rail to a plasterboard wall?

Yes, with the right fixings or a pattress behind the board. We check the wall first and tell you if something more is needed.

Do you supply the rails?

Yes. We supply and fit, and can match a specific product if your OT or care group has specified one.

How many rails can you fit in one visit?

Usually several. Tell us what is needed and we will plan the visit so it is done in as few trips as possible.
